COMPETITIONS AT SDAFF 2004

This year, we are awarding films entered into competition in the following categories: dramatic narrative feature, dramatic narrative short, feature documentary, short documentary, experimental, and (new) music video. Winners are selected by a festival jury and will be announced at our Gala Awards Dinner, October 23, and receive a Sony digital camera. In honor of our 5th anniversary, we have added three more competitions: Michelob Light Short Flicks Competition, Live@5 Reel Short Films Competition, and the SDAFF / UNION-TRIBUNE High School Film Critic Competition. Winners for both the Michelob Light and Live@5 will be chosen live by the Gala Awards Audience.

MICHELOB LIGHT SHORT FLICKS COMPETITION
With support of Anheuser-Busch, SDAFF commissioned five film groups, Cherry Sky Films, Commando Films, New True Talent, Seven Oh Five, and Touchblue Entertainment, to create 30-second short films promoting the film festival. Winner is chosen by a festival audience and receives $1,000. Click on the screenshots to view the films.

LIVE@5 REEL SHORT CONTEST
In celebration of our 5th anniversary, the SDAFF launched our Live @ 5 Reel Short Competition - an open call for 55-second short films to include the number 5 and "San Diego". Top five Reel Short films will be judged at our Gala Awards Dinner, October 23, and winner receives $555.55.

***There is a special FREE screening to view all 25 entries on Saturday, 6:30pm at the Brickstone salon (in the Double Tree Hotel). It's an open screening, so you can walk in any time, and the program will loop around at 7pm.
