 | Matt Wong
Matt Wong grew up in San Diego. During the day you can spot him in La Jolla, daydreaming in class, or eating great food. This summer he is also interning at a wind energy company. His documentary is about why Asian parents tend to pressure their children to learn musical instruments. He really hopes he can reach some enlightening conclusions! |

 | Ali Tanaka
In a nutshell, I go to High Tech High International (the better school on the campus by the way). I grew up speaking Japanese, but no, I don't own a kimono and dance geisha style. I'm 17 and I love Asian film. My other interests include traveling, rock climbing, music, sleeping, and Photoshop. My documentary explores what it was like growing up in a multilingual family. You might be surprised that being bilingual isn't always a benefit. |

 | Leon Cu
I went to school in Junipero Serra High School in Tierrasanta and graduated this summer. I enjoy short films of all types. My favorite food is everything. Film is a passion of mine that I hope to pursue in the future. If I could recommend one film it would be "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." My documentary will follow my friend Giorgio. He is a video game fanatic and struggles to fit in with the local gaming community. |

 | Jessica Jones
I'm going to be a Senior at the Crawford Complex of Multimedia Visual Arts in City Heights. I'm about to turn 17. I am influenced by my friendships, my family, and my boyfriend. I love all kinds of things like break dancing, street cars, playing video games, music, dance, singing, and sports. I'm a big computer person and think directing and editing video is majority cool. My documentary will explore my multiracial identity and look at how sometimes it can empower me and sometimes it can break me down. |
|
 | Alice Wang
My name is Alice Wang but I go by "La Love." I am a Junior at Torrey Pines High School. I like sleeping, eating, hanging out, and I'm pretty much down for anything. My documentary for the Reel Voices Project is about my family and their unexpected journey into the American Dream. |
|
 | Adam Lee
My name is Adam and people like me because I'm an interesting person. Anyway, that's beside the point. I was born 16 years ago and for the last half of my life I've been into filmmaking. I'm hoping to pursue a career in cinematography sometime between college and death, but for now I'm into surfing and surviving high school. If I could recommend any movie, I would recommend Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." My documentary will introduce you to Dale Akiki, who is arguably the world's nicest man. Dale has has overcome some unbelievable hardships due to his physical appearance. |

 | Julianne Sobejana
Have you ever met a person with fourteen toes? Me neither. To begin with, I am a recent graduate from the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts — the best school in the world! Class of 2007! I'll steal your food, especially Thai food. I'm Filipino, by the way...feels good. My favorite movie is "The Girl Next Door." You'll see me in Hollywood one day, directing "Ocean's 300" (I've already got the screenplay). My film explores the major differences between parents, who apply pressures on their kid's career choices, and the young adults who get pressured into those careers. |

 | Roland Lazarte
Hello! I'm Roland, but my friends call me "Rolo." I attend Cathedral Catholic High School and am in the class of 2008. I really love movies and would like to pursue a career in film, perhaps as a director or cinematographer. I like tennis, ping-pong, cameras, clothes, Bruce Lee and Spider-Man. Some of my favorite books are "The Little Prince" and "Franny and Zooey." Born as a Catholic, my documentary will explore my faith through the eyes of several other cultures. I hope to understand a little more about the tailored differences which set us apart and the ideas that ultimately unite us. |
